What science shows do kids have now?

What science shows do kids have now?
I was thinking, growing up in the 90s, there were a lot of great science shows for kids, or at least shows that had a lot of science educational content in them. Bill Nye the Science Guy is the one that comes to my mind. There were a few others but I don't remember their names. And if you had cable/dish, those were the days when the Discovery Channel and TLC actually had science content which even as a kid I loved watching.

What do kids have now on TV in terms of science education? Is there anything?

Or are kids getting an equivalent science education from other mediums outside of TV like the internet, or iPhone games, or something else I'm not aware of?

I don't have kids, but if I did, Cosmos would be mandatory viewing by age seven. I grew up in the eighties and nineties with Mr. Wizard, Bill Nye, and 3-2-1 Contact. I'm not sure if there are comparable shows now.

Well, angry birds teaches you about parabolic motion, and some other physics while sending pigs to their oblivion.

Therefore, in order to kill pigs one must shoot birds with a slingshot at them.

Seems legit.

Aside from Cosmos, that list is depressing.

What about Penelope K, by the Way? My kids love that one. It's kind if sciency. You can also find Bill Nye the Science Guy episodes and buy them. We don't have cable at my house. Too much crap on TV. Reviewing cartoons I used to like all I can think is hell no my kids aren't watching this junk!
I like to buy science experiment kits for kids on amazon too, they're much more fun than watching tv.

I used to watch a lot of Mythbusters and Brainiac growing up.

Brainiac for those that don't know:

More recently there have been quite a lot more science shows on though a lot of them are not aimed at kids. Most could be understood by older kids but more for adults really. Things like Stargazing Live and Brian Cox's Wonders series aren't too hard to follow.

@Lostly @Insanity It's interesting that those shows are all BBC shows.

It seems with the exception for a show aimed at toddlers on PBS, there aren't any kids shows being made today in the US that teach science, unless you consider Mythbuster like shows adequate.

Why is this? Is the political climate too heated nowadays thanks to fundies for a modern day science kids show to be aired today?

I didn't really explore all the shows on the list. I just showed what was first googled.

I grew up watching Steve Irwin fighting crocs. Does that count as scientific?
