Genetically modified corn is now found in nature. Intelligent design has been demonstrated. Some scientist believe the flagellum of certain bacteria are designed. The general consensus though is that it evolved.....however it has never actually been shown that it did evolve.

But atheists don't want it taught at all...when it is a fact of reality.

To show that life has been created in the lab by scientists - this I have no trouble with.

With the creationist way, which comes down to "Invisible magic man created everything the way it is. My evidence? The bible says so!" - This has no place in a science class.

And the bacterial flagellum? Seriously? Do you honestly think we've never heard of that before?

I picked the bacterial flagellum precisely because you have heard of it.

Can you demonstrate that evolution actually happens in a way that scientist have nothing to do with?

The universe ,in its construction ,reveals the
the laws of mathematics and these laws can be calculated and diagrammed by physicists.

This implies an intelligence in creation and underpins I.D. theory.

So you need billions of galaxies to produce life on Earth?

If they include a disclaimer that the only intelligent design with any evidence are the designs of intelligent humans.

ID as the creationists want it taught is neither intelligent nor even a cogent hypothesis.

I think ID'st would be quite happy with teaching that intelligent design is one of the known mechanisms by which biological systems come into existence....even if it included a disclaimer that they only known examples are the result of human intellect.

I suspect there would be atheists who fight it and still claim it isn't science. In the future, the very near future, most lineages of life on this planet will be the result of intelligent design. The lineage you and I belong to....its origin is unknown. Its origin could be designed or could be the result of happenstance.

After generations are taught about intelligent design, some will ponder if our origin is the result of intelligent design. Intelligent design isn't going away anytime soon.

No. It is not.

The proper application of both the endorsement and Lemon tests to the facts of this case makes it abundantly clear that the Board's ID Policy violates the Establishment Clause. In making this determination, we have addressed the seminal question of whether ID is science. We have concluded that it is not, and moreover that ID cannot uncouple itself from its creationist, and thus religious, antecedents.

Federal Judge, John E. Jones, Kitzmiller v Dover Board of Education

So sayeth the judge who listened to ID clowns and found them not credible.

Intelligent Design: Did you design yourself?
I have to point out the idea of intelligent design is anthropocentric thinking in action. It's the claim that Humans were created by a Really Big Strong Human who also created everything else.

It's sort of like Japanese Anime Giant Fighting Robots. Everything has to transform into a larger, more powerful human. Why? Because as evident in the earliest recorded religious beliefs (animism) narrative bias often makes us view everything beyond our control as if there is a human cause behind it, when we're merely projecting through the lenses we view life with.
