RPG games no reloading
Anyone ever tried playing an RPG game with the challenge of not reloading?

This means you don't reload when you die, which eliminates the tactic of going into a battle, finding exactly what the opponents weaknesses are by fighting them and dying repeatedly and just reloading, generally making things more exciting and making you sweat through the battles more.

I'm trying this on baldurs gate 2 right now and Angry FUCK MY LIFE it's fucking frustrating.

My last go I was walking around as ultra powerful half orc full of armor and I got wasted by some fucking little gimp of a wizard and all the wizard did was cast confusion onto one of my part members who then proceeded to smash my main character in the head with a mace. I have to start all over again from the fucking beginning. Wizards are fucking cunts that's all I have to say about that, but maybe I'll play as one next time round.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Wow, that is an old school game.

I know, I only really like the old school games.

I've done it before, but not on purpose really. On jrpg FFIV and FFVI I tried numerous times to play the entire of both games from start to finish without using the save option. It was a long painful do-over after making one deadly mistake....which I did several times.

Baldurs Gate was 2000, right? I didn't even know that was considered old school, but shit I guess if it is then old school is mostly all I play.

Would you count playing perma-death in MMOs?

It was 14 years ago bro, I'd say that's pretty old school.

@OP
I tried it doing it in Skyrim but I died after about 16 hours of gameplay. Felt like a complete waste of time if I just stopped playing so I carried on.

Is part of the challenge playing the game for so many hours just to beat it in one go? Hell no, not me.

Suppose so. I use to call 80's to mid 90's old school, but the years keep rolling by.
