Highly doubtful... I admittedly don't know a lot about him but unlike Cantor, he believes the bankers (Cantor's pals) involved in the collapse of Wall Street should have been thrown in jail, he's against K Street and the corporate lobbyists, believes in ending the bulk surveillance programs conducted by the NSA under Obama, and he's criticized the Right for heralding individual liberty while restricting abortion, homosexuality & gambling. I'm down with all that. D.C. needs more politicians who think that way.

There is muddling your way through a crisis, and then there is grandstanding your way into the abyss.

This fuckhead has a master's in "Divinity." And his only campaign issue seems to have been stopping immigration reform.

He's a tea bagging shithead.... and no fucking bargain.

You get way too much of your information from cable news.

Clearly his platform has far more going for it than solving illegal immigration problems: http://www.thenation.com/blog/180189/eri...capitalism

He also wants to cut education spending to the bone because Socrates taught Plato without education funding, so obviously we don't need any. He wants to deny seniors Medicare because he doesn't think it's fair that they aren't paying enough for it. His grand economic dream is to "synthesize Christianity and capitalism".

How much of that are you down with?

What dream world do you live in that ANY politician champions 100% of your views?

"His grand economic dream is to "'synthesize Christianity and capitalism.'" And where did you get this from?

Actually that came from The Fiscal Times which is about as fascistic as you can get without a swastika.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fiscal_Times

Quote:The Fiscal Times (TFT) is an English-language digital news, news analysis and opinion publication based in New York City and Washington, D.C. and founded in 2010. The publication received its initial funding from Peter G. Peterson, founder of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation and a billionaire investment banker, who has long advocated deficit reduction, reduced social welfare program expenditures, and cuts to Social Security.

Somewhere out there, a philosophy major is serving lattes to unruly New Yorkers and wondering where it all went wrong.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

And actually, synthesizing capitalism with the teachings of Jesus ("blessed are the poor," "woe to the rich," etc.) probably wouldn't be all that bad.

"Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor" is not a philosophy compatible with capitalism, so of course, it will be nowhere mentioned in any biblical justification he offers.
