It's really quite rare to see someone begin an apology, have one sentence dedicated to actual contrition, and then spend the remaining lengthy paragraph on insults and accusations. And for a guy who chastises me for letting my personal feelings interfere with my posting, there sure as hell was a lot of speculation as to my motivations and speaking for me in there.

What a perfect nonpology this is. I'm hesitant to get too fired up about it, because I'd like to think that the contrition is sincere and you just don't see how completely frustrating and ridiculous the rest of that paragraph is- despite what you seem to think I've got no specific interest in starting fights with you- but at the same time it's hard to believe that you wrote out that whole thing and didn't see how hollow it all rings.

However, I'll believe in your human decency for now, and accept your apology in the spirit that I hope it was intended. Except for all the bits that went off the rails, and the speculations about my motives. Tongue

I think he means how he said it.

This place can be a cesspool of anti social behavior (OCDPD). And there are many sick people around. In all forums. I mean some think that mocking another person or having two accounts to berate someone makes their "faith" more real.

All you ever do is complain about this place and the people in it. Well, also, it seems like you're playing internet psychologist (badly; OCDPD isn't even the same class of personality disorder as ASPD nor does it even address the same kind of behavior).

Nothing's keeping you from fucking off if you don't like it here.

First and foremost I owe an apology to Esquilax for my attitude and some of what I said to him, with all sincerity I do apologize to you Esquilax for my attitude and the irresponsibility that goes with it. However I do not apologize for most of the things I said, such as you are responsible for screwing up many of the discussions on this forum, you are always searching for the worse thing you can find to start arguments instead of furthering the conversation. You act as if this forum is your personal baby, it's not that credit goes to others, you act as if you are the police, prosecutor and judge. You stated that you were trying to stop me from starting an argument with CD, I wasn't and had no intention of doing so, I was merely curious about his Christian life and what happened, if you had cared to read the posts with an opened mind and honesty instead of with your closed mind and despite for me you would have seen that. You would also have seen I said that I believe Christians can give up their Christianity, I actually gave reason for that but, as usual you did not consider that. You also know I believe in complete free will in a decision for or against God, that in itself should have been enough to know that I believe Christians can fall away. CD wasn't making a great big deal out of the situation and if you had let things alone we may have had a good discussion. I have good discussions with atheist here, they never turn into name calling or a blame game, they are open and honest despite what you think. You let your personal feelings about me influence what you see in my writings. Then you interject them into a perfectly good discussion and bam! the whole thing gets thrown out of kilter. It's not the place of a moderator to intercede into a conversation because he/she thinks it might get out of hand, only after it does and I rarely let a conversation get that bad. I have looked for flaws in conversations for ammo just like others do, but I do not set up anyone to get ammo for hurting or running someone down, that's the fastest way I know of losing the confidence of others to engage in conversation, wouldn't you agree. I could go on about other things but I think you get the jest of my thoughts. There are others here who are worse and they need to learn they are not kings either and they also spoil conversation by their incessant aggression without contributing anything to the discussion other than using foul language, not adult language as you and others like to call it, towards others. If you wish to us that type of language do not point it at others, you'll find people will respond better toward you. That and other things are used to inflame Christians, and you know we were invited to be here, we did not come barging in. I never came here with the intention of converting anyone, though after I was here for a while I did realize others were being touched. I have asked God to forgive me because I hurt what He has built first and foremost and I know He's forgiven me. I ask for your forgiveness if you see fit to give it, if you do not I understand. I will most likely not be back here unless God instructs differently, and you may think I've hit and run with this little post, you have my e-mail address you can use it to say whatever you want and relay what others think, I do not open mail when I don't know who it from so if you decide to send me an answer please make sure you identify yourself so I know to open the mail, good luck in your life and may your relationship with other be much better than ours. Good night and good bye.

PS I know one place this want wind up and I bet he knows what I'm referring to.

Quote:No Calling Out

Do not any create threads that call out a specific member. Calling out is whenever someone creates a thread that is aimed at a specific member in order to insult him, complain about him, and/or to put him in a awkward position such as by challenging his views or even by asking him questions.

Anyone?

Of his own choice; I didn't think he did anything bannable and was surprised that he seemed to be expecting it.

As for being asked by the lord to return, I wonder about that. Would it be a direct and specific request from god? Would it just be a feeling? Without specifics, how would he know what to do when he returned? Maybe god only wants him to warn us that the end is near (though to be fair, that topic has been all too common lately). Maybe he is sending GC back to save one specific person (prepare for the coming of the lord, Min! And by that I mean hide the lotion but keep the towels handy). How would he know? Acting strange and mysterious is very inconvenient at a time like that.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Since that is unlikely in the extreme we have to worry about G-C's delusions telling him to come back but until then the IQ of the whole board just rose a few points.

Can you imagine how that would go? Do you think GC expects the winged angel Gabriel to fly down with the peal of trumpets to give him the message to log back on?

More likely it would be Balaam's Ass rising from the grave to sit on his face..

What did I say? Apology with passive aggressive overtone I said.

Gasp at my prophetic power.

Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken."

RE: Apology
I'm no prophet. I guess I'm an optimist. I actually got my hopes up that a sincere apology was in the offing. I was all ready to withdraw my suggestion that Esquilax make GC's epic meltdown his sig (which he was too classy to adopt, sadly) and forget about the whole thing. Oh, well. Let it stand as an example to all future Christian predecessors of why we're practically out of patience with them before they even get here.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
