Thank You Britain

RE: Thank You Britain
B-but if we don't teach creationism in schools, where are kids supposed to learn about god????
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I believe that there's plenty of old books left in the top draw in motels.

The real interesting books are in all libraries in the non fiction section.

Most universities only accept students who have accumulated a certain number of "points" from certified exam boards, and I'm not aware of any exam boards that include creationism in the Biology exams, so in a way that has already happened.

You see, Divi Tiberio, you guys can handle this in a rational manner. We need the goddamn Supreme Court to smack these assholes down!

Quote:The U.S. Supreme Court rejected an appeal Tuesday from Christian schools that want the University of California to grant college-prep credit for courses with religious viewpoints - using textbooks, UC says, that replace science with the Bible.

The justices, without comment, denied a hearing to the Association of Christian Schools International, which accused the university of violating freedom of speech and religion with its policy on the classes applicants take in high school.

Quote:Lawyers for the Christian school association denounced the ruling in their Supreme Court appeal.

"In the Ninth Circuit," they said, "religious speech in religious schools is less protected than commercial speech, flag burning and pornography."

And the SC told them to go fuck themselves.

A-men.

Wow! Freespeech requires The University of California to accept a particular "scientific theory"? Or maybe it requires college credit for all viewpoints? (Were is the sarcasm emoticon when I need it?)

Seriously, I can't find anything in the First Amendment that requires others to listen or agree.

Around 4.8 % of the total population at last count:

Localised in very specific wards within inner cities such as Tower Hamlets, lozells, Bradford constituencies etc. This in turn was down to first wave migration from the Indian sub-continent and white flight from poor innercity regions to more affluent city suburbs in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
