Reasons for belief

RE: Reasons for belief
Even among strict, fundamentalist 'believers' there is this overwhelming current of slacking, cafeteriaism, cherry picking and selective ignorance of inconvenient scripture, both profound and subtle, that I might wonder why the OP doesn't direct a similar question to his brethren wondering why THEIR belief isn't of the Literal, Inerrant, Strict and Total variety instead of posting here.

In my experience, it's rare that anybody ever acknowledges losing a debate. Instead, both sides harbor a well nurtured suspicion that they are ultimately correct, regardless of how well or poorly they fared.

This! That's usually the point the name calling starts.

RE: Reasons for belief
Beliefe in a lack of belief makes sense because you believe your lack of belief is reasonable. But this is a non-important point anyway. Boru, it seems to me, that if atheism is held because of no evidence than in that moment they loose that debate they would in order to stay consistent, convert to theism. Chad, it would be important to believe or not believe in deism for any other reason that it is virtues to hold on to true beliefs.

Some here have given pretty tough guidelines for a theistic argument. Inductive reasoning or argument to the best explanation anyone?

Im not an atheist. I just think your god is a useless powerless dickless angry unfair unjust self-absorbed blood-thirsty unreasonable grudge-holding bigotted elitist selfish arrogant piece of holy fucking shit douche bag biggest sack of shit that mankind ever dreamed up.

He is unworthy of my consideration, let alone my worship. Hell, just getting him to show up would be a miracle he could add to his list.

This is not supposed to be an exhaustive thread but rather which arguments you find effective and compelling and perhaps the circumstances that ultimately lead to your conclusion. Please don't respond (though I grant you have every right to do so) religion is dumb only dummies believe in that. Im more interested in a civil explanation of the specifics of your reasoning and foundation for your beliefs.

Kindest regards,

All theistic ideas lack evidence. I have never been a believer and have seen nothing approaching a good reason to start.

The more I learn of theism the more convinced I am that all theistic beliefs should be consigned to the dustbin of history.

Lol, 'you believe your lack of belief is true'?
Don't you see the problem with that?
What if you do believe that you believe that your lack of belief is true
You do believe that you believe that you believe that your lack of belief is true
You do believe that you believe that you believe that you believe that your lack of belief is true.
Found the problem yet Arthur?
