There's a few Facebook statuses which say exactly that. It's not, it's just this

But I LIKE holes in skin! I cut hpv 1 growths out of people regularly and that leaves a hole! That doesn't freak me one atom. Pulled maggots out of ulcers. I've amputated gangrenous toes. !

I think it's because there's no inflammation so it doesn't look like a foreign body.

I even hate this one. I just want to cry when I see this stuff or be physically ill it's so freaking gross :/

I don't even know why but I just hate it so much.

True trypophobia is probably exceedingly rare. Gullibility on the other hand...

It looks fake, but, at this point, even regular lotus pods creep me out.

I think parasites are far more disgusting. Like a bot fly for instance.

I'm not sure if its because you prompted me, but I do feel a very slight discomfort.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Meh. It's an illogical fear reaction. Seems pretty common to me based on the poll. The severity of it is less interesting to me than that there is a reaction at all!

Sure, but difficult to tell if trypophobia is a real condition. Many people would be upset if anything on the body were out of place. Examples could be abnormally large features, an obvious limb fracture, unusual protruding growth, etc.
