Why Sister Jenny! That doesn't sound like a lot of love and kindness coming from you!....what would it be about the year that would make it either a privilege or a curse?

Getting a little heated in here yall? It's law, it's a back and forth. If we can imagine all of the unfortunate consequences of this precedent - and if we're right, then those things are going to materialize and become a burden on the system. Then it will readdress.

Why does the anti-choice crowd also oppose contraception?
It's because culture has really slow reflexes.
For tens of thousands of years, societies which didn't maximize fertility died out and were replaced by those that did. Abortion, contraception, education regarding sexuality and biology threaten maximized fertility and so are opposed by cultures which thrived. Unfortunately, like trying to turn the Titanic to miss the iceberg, we appear to be unable to realign our thinking in time to avoid overpopulation, ecological destruction, resource depletion (now that we've beaten death down (but not out, he'll be back)). It's a rate equation: pop growth rate = birthrate - death rate. Eventually, it has to equal zero. Too bad folks like AT are so cheerful about taking all the rest of us over the cliff with them.

After Citizens United and now Hobby Lobby, corporations are being given more and more rights as persons. Does this mean that a corporate raider that takes over a company and breaks it up for its components, killing, it is committing murder?

"I'll believe it when Texas executes one" -

It is interesting, to consider how far we're willing to take the concept of legal personhood for what might traditionally be termed "non-persons". If they enjoy the rights of personhood - are they then subject to the responsibilities and consequences of personhood and all that this may entail? What might our answer bring to light about how we view our own legal personhood as a concept?

The problem with conservatives is they don't care unless it effects them.A theist is an example of this.he wont address Esquilax properly.

Like most "good" Christians these days, Hobby Lobby are nothing more than money grubbing hypocrites worshiping at the altar of Mammon.

You simply can't refute the points laid out in the article.

RE: SCOTUS Rules In Favor Of Hobby Lobby
The amusing part about some idiot Christians and conservatives touting this as a victory for religious liberty is the fact that they are mostly fucking over Christian women. Not all Christians share the medically ignorant and scripturally baseless anti-contraceptive belief. If this was about the religious convictions of Hobby Lobby owners, then why were the contraceptives offered as part of their insurance plan prior to passing ACA? Some religious conviction they have there.

Would be theocrats are so desperate to cling to some legitimacy of their superstitious control freak code that they celebrate a ruling that has much more impact on members of their own flock. Perhaps mainstream Christians will now finally start to wake up and work to muzzle their more vocal lunatic evangelical cousins.

RE: SCOTUS Rules In Favor Of Hobby Lobby
From a legal standpoint, say a person falls down and hurts him/herself at Hobby Lobby, normally they would just sue the corporation, but since this is considered a "closely-held" organization, would it not make sense, after the precedent set by SCOTUS yesterday, for the injured person to sue both the company and the family that owns it?

Obvious trolling is obvious.
SCOTUS decision is weird.

My point is that from a legal stand point this ruling is nothing but a smoke screen. People will find legal loopholes and exploit them....always
