The devil has two triumphs,
Convincing people he doesn't exist, and laying all the bad stuff on God.
He loves it when Christians fall for it.

Who cares. I always nip that shit in the bud by saying that I don't believe in God anyway. I don't believe in a vague deistic God or a very specifically attributed on like that of your friend. So it doesn't matter to me what he believes god's characteristics are. I don't know why so many Atheists waste there time with the problem of evil or subtle variations of it like what is kind of posted here. The problem of evil only debunks omni-benevolence, not the existence of God. It's probably the most over used and weakest of arguments used by Atheists on these forums.
The real answer shouldn't be that suffering or natural disasters debunks his God, but that there isn't a good reason to believe in such a being in the first place. If such a specific creature existed, it would be there and we would all know about it. We would all physically be able to interact with it. We would be able to scientifically measure it like we can with everything that exists.

The classical definition of god as being omnipotent, omni-benevolent, omnipresent and omniscient is highly incoherent and fallacious. If god is omni-benevolent and simultaneously omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient why doesn't he prevent evil? Read my last signature phrase, it will explain better.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

Exactly. That's why it's important to let extreme theists who may think you're gullible know that you're not by showing that you in fact DO have logical reasons for rejecting their belief.
Luke: You don't believe in the Force, do you?
Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.
