More shit from the fuckheads.

Are the Christians in America praying before this sculpture as if God himself was in that statue?

To listen to them talk about the fucking thing you'd sure as hell think so.

I have never understood that decision. By the constitution, Italy is a secular state: if you want to put religious symbols in the classrooms you either put symbols of all religions or you put none.

When I went to school we'd always put the crucifix away and substitute it with something more appropriate, like a clock.

It's embarrassing enough that he was trying to deny that his motive was religious, but to so transparently try to play both sides was the icing on the cake.

Catholics also play this card when it comes to crucifixes in the classroom. They usually say "If you're an atheist, you should not care about it because you don't believe in anything".

What I think this kind of people (wherever they are) fail to understand is that freedom of religion means you are free to worship and to display your faith individually without fearing repression from the State.
That means that in order to grant this level of protection to all religions, the State must remain neutral and secular, and all public institutions such as schools, tribunals etc. should reflect its neutrality by not displaying any religious symbol.

Does it bother you at all that like ninety percent of your posts are nothing more than baseless, vague tu quoque fallacies?

I'm disappointed the authors of the Bible didn't write that the people responded and issued their god with commandments likewise that he must follow, anything less would be a strain on their relationship.

To imagine a few:

"Thou must have no creations before us",
"Thou must not forsaken us in our time of need",
"Thou must not break your covenant with your people",
"Thou must answer prayers and comfort the weary",
"Thou must not destroy or neglect your creation"

Etc....etc....

You know because "love" and "equality" were such alien concepts to these batshit insane people who lived back then weren't they?

He probably should have sought some outside council before testifying to that.

Could it be the common ground between American Christians and American atheists be that they are American?

Does it bother you that all your posts prove you can't think critically?
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I was disappointed to hear this was in NM. We're still waiting for a ruling on the one in OKC. Still, hopefully the federal court follows this judges lead with their ruling.

Though honestly I don't care. If it stays up then we get a satan monument. If it comes down then it comes down. Either way some of the stupid Okies will throw a fit, which is always hilarious to watch.

Not by non-American atheists. On the other hand, xtians over here, including those of my acquainatnce, are embarressed by the extremity often displayed by American xtianity.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
