Not by non-American atheists. On the other hand, xtians over here, including those of my acquainatnce, are embarressed by the extremity often displayed by American xtianity.

Oh yes, by non-American atheists...heck, American atheists are doing that to their own more and more these days.

Then I stand corrected. If you can correct me.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I would have to use Facebook and that would mean quoting my atheist friends from America and I don't believe they want their posts off Facebook.

That being said, one posted something that another atheist friend of mine believed a Christian would have posted, about what stereotypical atheists other atheists in America prefer to avoid...aka, stuck behind a computer trying to argue with theists, stuff about the FSM (other atheist didn't even know what this was), only having Dawkins books.

A hated website for them on how atheists ruin the image of other atheists was Huffington Post, for which they compared the atheists on that site as the equivalent of the dumbest Christians Fundamentalists.

Basically atheists in Europe and now in America want to distance themselves from the atheists who they don't see as actually valuing secular (aka non-religious) ideals...to them, merely being anti-religious is not good enough.

If you're talking about "Atheism+", you probably have a point. Then again, I am myself a non-American atheist and other than the afore-mentioned extremist wing, I stand shoulder to shoulder with my colonial cousins. Doesn't my vote count?

What a delightfully quixotic pic!

Doesn't really alter the fallacy, that.

And I don't think moving from tu quoque to ad hom really helps your case either.

Ironically, here we have a theist "stuck behind a computer' on an atheist forum, arguing his case that:

athiests are "stuck behind a computer trying to argue with theists"
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

People who generalize are dumb.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
