USA wasn't responsible for the catholic invaders, Sha, it was mainly Spain.

The latest archeological and demographic research suggests the number of native Americans who died as a result of Spanish conquest of South and central America much much larger than that, in the vicinity of 100 million. However, what percentage of that is intentional is a harder question to answer. Also, majority of the deaths occurred before the first English speaking colony was established in America.

What is certain is pre-Colombian America had a much larger native population than was thought 30-40 years ago, and dropped by at least 80% within 100 years of Columbus. Majority of the decline was the result of old world diseases brought by the Spaniards for which native Americans had no resistance. But to what extent exploitative Spanish policies exacerbated disease vulnerability and increased the death toll is harder to say. It could well be a substantial percentage.

There is this religious scrolling of preaches called "El Catesisimo de Menesteres"(The Catechism of Requirements in english). That explains how the spanish convinced the aztecs and mayans to convert to Catholicism. Maybe one day I'll make a thread about it. You may find it interesting…
Unless you are against animal cruelty because if you are then I strongly suggest you to not research about it.

Actually, current research of Spanish colonial archives suggests Spanish attempt to convert the Aztecs and particularly the Maya's were much less successful than the Spanish had publicly portrayed, even after 200 years of Spanish occupation. Substance of native religions and beliefs continue to form the core of native world view, with just the thinnest veneer of Catholic pretenses on top. There are records of Jesuits trying to debate native priests as late as 1750s, and was made to look like fools and had to shut down the debate.

Also, Spanish oppression of natives in many cases were much more severe than even slavery. In Peru every Native American household was required to contribute one person to work in the silver mines. The treatment in the solver mines are so harsh the Indians there had shorter life expectancies than Jews in Nazi forced labor camps. Since the average life expectancy is less than 1 year, in effect each Indian family was forced to lose one person a year, and since this was higher than natural replacement rate, the local population was quickly exterminated. The Spanish then went further afield and roped in more people from a wider area. In one silver mine, 250,000 - 1,000,000 Indian forced labor was thought to have died over 2 centuries under maltreatment. This was done with the blessing of the Catholic Church.

Look in the replies. You'll see that I'm discussing with him right know because he claims that Hitler was an atheist.

Because according to him:
Atheism just leads to human demi-god worship, and mass slaughter of your own people.

It's amazing what "atheism" causes, considering it's just a lack of belief in unfounded god claims. Why do people feel the need to add more? Maybe they are so used to being ruled by religion, that they can't imagine any other way. So atheism must be an alternative religion.

Yeah I noticed that guy, wow, it really is hard to tell whether people are pulling your leg or actually that far gone.
