Shaving

RE: Shaving
I use the Gillette Fusion for body work. But I also haven't used a razor on my face since I got out of the Navy. Beard trimmer for life, son!

RE: Shaving
I just use a cheap disposable razor with water and hack away until it's gone. Then I wait about 6 months and do it again.

Isn't it weird how enormous the shaving industry is? Not just enormous but so heavily advertised. It seems like every third commercial is for some kind of shaving product.

I had you pegged as a long haired hippie, TBH. Maybe dredlocks. :p

Personally, I use electric clippers and mow my face when it gets so long that it's annoying.

I've considered it.

We're into round three now. Big Grin

RE: Shaving
I actually just paid $475 for laser hair removal on my neck. Seems to be working pretty well so far! One more session!

I had that done while I was at the Academy. Such bad razor bumps and ingrown hairs on my neck. That shit HURTS!!! They actually did my whole face, but because of the complexion of my skin and thickness of my hair, it didn't fully take. But my facial hair is about 30% thinner, which is now perfect. Laser hair removal felt, to me, even with a whole tube of lidocaine on my face, like someone stretching a rubber band to its limit, holding it up to my face, and snapping it point blank about 400 times. The Army captain who did my second session gave me the wrong amount of cream, and then used the wrong setting on the laser, and I left with my face literally melting off. I still have scars on my lip and chin. Good old military healthcare...

And according to the ads, the average razor contains more technology than the Starship Enterprise.

Doesn't laser hair removal reduce the density of your body hair? That's enough for me to never consider doing it, let's imagine I then decided to grow a beard and I regretted my decision... Not worth the money or pain, I like shaving with a razor, old fashioned way. One day I'll learn to use a straight razor

B sides, reducing the amount of body hair would make me feel less manly, don't ask me why. The only place where I'd consider doing laser hair removal would be at the back, if I happened to have hair there, which I don't.

RE: Shaving
Some interesting replies. I only started with the safety razor due to the irritation I got from multi-blade cartridge razors, but it may just be that the squirty foam is rubbish. Either way I find it a pleasurable routine in a morning and the collecting and trying of different razors / blades / soaps is becoming a bit of a hobby.
