Fountain Pens
#31
RE: Fountain Pens
My interest in fountain pens has a purely practical slant. I hand write letters and prose in cursive for many pages at a time. Unlike ball points, a fountain pen requires no pressure against the paper. Not having to press down makes writing not only more pleasant but is easy on the wrist and fingers.

RE: Fountain Pens
I have always loved fountain pens. I normally have four of them. All cheap ones bought from WH Smiths for about 2 UKP each (a high street stationary shop in the UK). I haven't used them in a while though. I normally have different coloured ink in each one. I like to have lots of different colours when thinking things through and drawing diagrams or when reading scientific papers. I'll make notes or draw boxes around paragraphs in different colours to signify different things.

When studying and writing down notes in class I prefer fountain pens. If I want some really small writing I'll flip the pen so the nib is upside down and use the other side against the paper. Although my eye sight isn't so good for that any more. But normally I prefer it to give a nice big fat smooth feel.

Unfortunately my current batch of pens are all rather cheap and scratchy so I've sort of given up using them. And it would look a bit odd washing out all the dried up ink in the sink here at work next time it jams up. Which I frequently seem to need to do. I also ran out of multi-coloured ink cartridges while living in Germany and could only buy them after moving back to the UK. The bag of them is on my dining room table at the moment so maybe I should bring them to work one day.

I can post pics and write some reviews if you're interested. Of course, feel free to share your own experiences with FPs!

I love fountain pens. They make me so happy. xD
