Atheist historical figure you should know.

RE: Atheist historical figure you should know.
The Communist Manifesto has some poignant critiques of capitalism and bourgeois society that are still being prophetically fulfilled today.

Fun fact: Karl Marx had so little influence in his own lifetime that only eleven people showed up at his funeral.

That's all the shitstains have to hear!

So what, Karl Marx had a great deal of original insight into sociology and economics that informed modern state of these sciences. His main impact on history is probably not going to be Marxism.

Yes, but all isms makes up answers. Capitalism is third only after jesusism and communism (as distinct from Marxism) in making up bullshit answers to questions it can't begin to understand.

I'm watching The Roosevelts on PBS right now and it amazing how little has changed since T.R. and F.D.R. Then, as now, a small cabal of rich motherfuckers is trying to manipulate the government for their own benefit. They had succeeded before Teddy came along and they are succeeding again. Until people wake up to what they are doing "capitalism" will remain a very effective...if criminal...form of 'government' even if it is nothing but a smokescreen for greed.

Watched some of the PBS series about the Roosevelts, Teddy certainly was pro labor, but flirted with selling the idea of ending the separation of powers. If you already have the foxes guarding the hen house the last thing you do is consolidate them even more.

Back to the OP, Mark Twain's "Letters from Earth" is a must-read for an atheist -- and most Americans have no clue that he was an atheist.
