Formation of life.
Atheist what are your beliefs about the reasons for life into existance?

I certainly have my own beliefs but to avoid causing an arguement I won't mention them.

This doesn't have to be backed up with evidence I just want to hear your personal views.

I believe that life has, in fact, come into existence.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

It's called abiogensis, and to answer your question I don't know how life began. There are a number of possibilities other than god though.

I have no beliefs on the matter, but I think the best explanation is that life arose out of the interactions of simple organic compounds.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I don't know how life came about. It seems likely to have been either some chemical interactions or possibly seeded by meteors or other space debris, from some world where those chemical interactions took place.

My interest in it is academic. It'd be nice to know, but has no bearing on how I live my life.

There are no reasons. It just is what it is.

Life probably came about very slowly with chemical interactions and other factors over time producing something that definitely was life. I would imagine that the exact moment life emerged would be hard to pin point, like so much of nature it would be a gradient rather than a line.

If you can find it on line I recommend "the wonder of life" by Dr Brian Cox who does a good job of looking at biology from a physicists point of view.

Evolution explains how life changes from one thing to the next due to different pressures. Where life first arose is from molecules, or primitive particles. It takes a while, but if something is possible then it doesn't matter how slim the odds are. It will eventually happen.

The reason life exists is for the sole purpose of life-forms having discussions pertaining to the reason for the existence of life.
