Come on man, just think about how difficult it must have been for him to write that post up without a dextrous extremity or opposable thumbs.

Give the bear some love, he just wants some company.

we'll see.

Quote:1. How do you know if god is a) teaching you a lesson b)disciplining you or c) satan is attacking you?
perhaphs it is all three, or nothing is spiritual is happiness at all. It's a matter of circumstance.

Quote:2. Why are there so many religions? (free will not accepted)
non-christ centered religions: because we all have a need to follow a God of some sort programmed in us.
Christ centered religions: because of our greatest command. To love our lord God with all of our being. Because we are all different this love will manifest itself differently from person to person region to region and generation to generation. This manifested love eventually solidifies into different religions.

Quote:3. Why is christianity the correct religion?
correct how?

Quote:4. Why do christians fight each other about stuff like baptism, communion or free will v predestiny?
so do so because thier passion for their faith exceeds their personal level of grace. Other believe that there is only one way to look at God through christianity.
Quote:5. Will jews go to hell?
like every other group, they will be subject to God judgement based on their exposure to the gospel.

Quote:6. Why did jesus never write anything down for us?
how do you know He didn't? Unless you can accurately account for everything ever written while He was alive, you can't say He didn't write anything down.
The other Arguement that can be made is that He lived in a oral culture and passed the lions share of His information in a way consistant with the culture.

Quote:7. Why did paul write the majority of the nt when he never knew jesus?
what makes you say Paul never knew Jesus? The book of Acts records that Paul indeed meet Jesus.

Quote:8. Why did the people who assembled the bible leave out so many known letters?
what was compiled could be authenticated. What was left out could not be for one reason or another.

Quote:9. if god created EVERYTHING, why did he create sin?
sin is choice.
Without sin there is only the expressed will of God. Anything out of the expressed will of God is sin, subsequently anything outside of the expressed will of God can be identified as option 'B' to God's will. In order to have a choice you must have more than one option to choose from.

Quote: or better put satan?
why did God create Satan? Satan is not an equal to God in anyway. Satan is a servant, he manages 'the choice' we have been given over to.

Quote:10. The creator of the universe created everything. For millions of years, there were no humans. All of a sudden humans just appear not evolve. Does a being capable of all this really desire a relationship with me?
God does not want a relationship with everyone.. Just those who would choose Him.

Quote:11. If he does want a relationship with me, why does he not want one with the millions of other people who are not mainly european and american?
ROFLOL
You do know the jews are not northamerican or European in orgin right? God extends his covenant to the jew first, then the gentile.. The word gentile also includes the Chinese. http://www.billionbibles.org/china/how-m...china.html
And the Mexicans and Brazilians
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_by_country
All of which are of Mongolian decent... Which far exceed 'white' christians where ever they may live. So it would seem that God likes the olive and yellow skinned people a little more than the pale skin variety. It only seems that God likes white people more, because white people think the sun moon and stars (and appearently now God) revolve around them.
But, if you take a honest look at the world, [/quote]God is represented to the whole world through christianity, and whether or not it is accepted has more to do with one's heart than skin color or geography.

Quote:There are many more questions but these are at the front of my brain right now.

But why would a perfect god let him attack me if I am covered in Jesus' blood?

Why is christianity the correct religion? The only required doctrine is Love of God and neighbor as self. To the extent a religion teaches these beliefs, it is the correct religion.
Thats not what christians believe, they say only those who believe in christ's death and resurrection will be saved.

Will jews go to hell? Depends on the Jew.
But jews are the chosen ones according to the bible.

Why did jesus never write anything down for us? Because He is, in Himself, the teaching.
Sure would have solved a lot of problems that supposedly he could see.

Why did paul write the majority of the nt when he never knew jesus? Because he was a gnostic.
What is a gnostic?

Why did the people who assembled the bible leave out so many known letters? Because some letters (and gospels) did not support the consolidation of power to the Church in Rome.
Shouldn't everything be included? Not just the letters that support their point of view?

if god created EVERYTHING, why did he create sin? or better put satan? God created the paint, we make the pictures.
Thats a cop out. He didn't have to make evil, if he was real and really loved us wouldn't he want the best for us?

Chad, THANK YOU for your answers. I asked some further questions, I hope you dont mind.

God says to test all things, and hold on to what is good. If you are suspicious of what the voice in your head is saying, test it with God's word.

ARRGH why does god leave the decision to me to figure out the three?

(October 29, 2014 at 10:30 am)polar bear Wrote: 3. Why is Christianity the correct religion?
Jesus said that He alone was the way to the Father (John 14:6)--that He alone revealed the Father (Matt. 11:27; Luke 10:22).
Why does god allow other religions?

If his is the truth, wouldn't it make sense to allow everyone to worship him? After all it brings him glory?

(October 29, 2014 at 10:30 am)polar bear Wrote: 6. Why did jesus never write anything down for us?
Christianity was an oral tradition back then. But John 8:3-9 proves that Jesus did write something, albeit on the ground.

others managed to get pen to paper

(October 29, 2014 at 10:30 am)polar bear Wrote: 9. if god created EVERYTHING, why did he create sin? or better put satan?
God did not create Lucifer as evil but allowed the potential for sin. While God cannot commit sin, He doesn’t take it away from those who do. When Lucifer chose to rebel, he instantly became the author of sin. Evil is the result of a free-will choice by Lucifer. Satan and sin don’t foil God’s divine purposes.

But sin did not exist when lucifer rebelled, god had to know that would happen. If he did not want pain and suffering, why did he allow it?

It wasn't because he needed us: "The God who made the world and everything in it … is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything" (Acts 17:24-25). And he didn't make us because he was lonely. Long before we were here, God already had "company" with his Son and the Holy Spirit, referred to in Genesis 1:26, "Let us make man in our own image." And he didn't make us because he needed his ego fed. It's not like God made us to satisfy some craving to be worshiped. God is totally secure in who he is—without us.
Despite not needing us, God chose to create us anyway, out of his great love: "I have loved you with an everlasting love" (Jeremiah 31:3). God is love (1 John 4:8), and because of that love and his wonderful creativity, he made us so we can enjoy all that he is and all that he's done.

A new way to look at it! Thanks!Wink

@Drich
Thank you for your response! I asked further questions to two others who had similar responses, but thanks!Clap
