Pope says God isn't a magician

Pope says God isn't a magician

Of course he still thinks a creator is needed to set life in motion but then evolution is all good with the pope. Not a new stance for the church but rather a return to a position held up until the last pope regressed.

Makes me wonder what he really thinks about an after life, judgement and heaven/hell. If he thinks of god as a hands-off deity, why would he imagine Him as keeping score on all of our failings in order to decide who to reward with his presence and who to torture unceasingly. I hope the pope will share what he thinks on this eventually.

I don't often follow what popes think. Does anyone know if any popes have ever pontificated against the immortality of the soul and all that rubbish?

Drich has been saying this very thing (well God's isn't a genie here to grant your wishes) from the beginning, and no one started a thread for me.

Ah, but do you have a big dumb hat and billions of dollars with which to shield pedophiles?

The pope (by Catholic definitions) is the Vicar of Christ, and supposedly, the God of Heaven has handed off to this (impostor) individual all his rule.
Vicar means "Replacement".
So whatever nonsense flows from the mouth of the pope is the new reality.

Vicar does not mean 'replacement'.

It's a Middle English word derived through Old French from the Latin vicarius, meaning 'substitute'. In other words, a stand-in for the local god du jour.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

When you can speak and write English as well as the pope can Latin, we will start a thread for you.

Well Stimbo regardless whether it is replacement or substitute, the outcome is the same.
He claims to be able to speak the declarations of God in place of God.

He and his representatives claim to turn the little wafer into God with their hocus-pocus ceremony called the Mass (called by them a Sacrifice).

I love it that prof is calling out Catholic "hocus pocus" but he's been gleefully trying to predict the end of the world and claims Obama is some antichrist.

What was that bible verse about specks of dust and planks in your eye again?

I wish the Pope were a magician. I'd pay a fair bit to watch him pull a rabbi out of his hat.
