Retrobution..
Imagine this... you suffer the pain of having your young teenage daughter raped, but manage to get your hands on the rapist... what do you do?

is this parent justified?

*retribution

No. He isn't.

I'd turn him over to the cops, and no - he wasn't justified.

And it's 'retribution'.

If someone were to rape my young daughter/niece/cousin, he'd better pray that the police get him before I do.

But would you mutilate and murder a man based only on your daughter's say-so? Remember - that's all the father in the story had to go on.

Retrobution: old-school revenge.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Were I on the jury I would have to find you guilty of premeditated murder.

Might check and see if the rape victim agrees. I wouldn't were it me. And it was me, once.

Were it my father, uncle, or husband who wanted revenge, I'd prefer they went to the police. This is partly because I like to live in a lawful country rather than one of personal vendettas, and partly because I wouldn't want to be both a rape victim and fatherless or husbandless.

However, I noted that the incident happened in India where the rate of conviction for rape is less than 1%. https://us-mg6.mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch...9kadrr72j# That might make a difference. But not much if it meant my close male relative was bound for jail.

Boru

That depends on the credibility of the story.

But I did make my statement based on being sure of the identity and guilt of the perpetrator.

And you would be right in doing so.

This kind of vigilante behavior must be illegal in a just, lawful, orderly society. Doesn't mean I wouldn't do it.
