RE: First time I ran into this mass conspiracy junk.
I'll have to listen to the whole cast later, but this is the first I heard of The Intellectual Cafe.

But, who is this Dion guy? Is he one of us? Does he do this regularly? Will Batman escape the clutches of the Joker?

Um no, he is an atheist, but he does not hang out the same places I do other than FB.

Fighting superstition and god claims is something the real heros of science have to combat the jokers forever I am afraid. I think you can only contain it.

The first time I heard someone seriously discuss a conspiracy theory it was while riding the city bus and listening to some older men talk about why the moon landing didn't happen. Um...okay.

At a friend's Christmas party, her guest started to tell both me and the hostess' mother about 9/11 and secret messages in the bible that only certain people could read and why Obama was THE ANTICHRIST. Up until that point, the speaker had been a sweet woman who seemed reasonable in all other aspects of her life. What made her so adamant about believing so many conspiracy theories, I don't know.

I have a guilty pleasure in that I like to watch all the History Channel shows on ghosts and Big Foot. My gripe is why can't they be presented as colorful urban legends instead of facts?

These jerks who know they are selling crap, do not understand that they could do the same thing, make it just as interesting and use those subjects to get people to think critically.

It is no different than Nadar screaming about how bad cars were designed, finally government put safety standards on them, then the car companies realized they could market those new standards and STILL make money.

COSMOS the new series used the same visuals and graphics crappy shows use, but to spread facts. It was a highly rated show too. So you can use the market, do the right thing AND make money.
