There was one recently in South Carolina that said so called "subversive agents" or "political dissidents" have to sign up on a list. If they do not they may be charged with a failure to do so. They define the term as someone who plans, considers, discusses the control, destruction or overthrow of the American Federal Government. There is also a $5 filing fee.

If you are an enemy of the Feds, please come and sign up. If you don't the Feds will get you. That was another gem.

I like when there is an article that should be in the Enquirer or the Onion, but there is it Washington or NY times...

I recently read a book (Joey The Hitman, incidentally) where the author says that he was once in the Army (It was either that or Jail) and late in his Army career, they asked if he was a member of any political party that intended to overthrow the U.S. Government. As a joke he said "Yes, I'm a Republican and we're trying to get Truman out of there."
