I don't think "our lies are working for us, though!" should really be your go-to defense, or something you crow about. It makes you and your party look like, well, cartoon supervillains.

Worse than that. I don't think he's a billionaire. He might be, who knows, but I'm pretty sure he's not one of the beneficiaries of the lies.

There are two kinds of Republicans: those who know they're lying and the fools who fall for it.

The latter are the mob of useful idiots who vote against their best interests. They are not the billionaire beneficiaries of GOP policies. They will suffer like the rest of us from them. They breathe the same polluted air, they rely on the same government programs and their kids are educated at the same public schools. They just don't realize what they're doing when the help the GOP win elections like this last mid term.

The little conservative boy who cries "Wolf!" represents the Newt Gingriches, the Ted Cruzes, and the Kochs of the GOP. People like ATheist are just the duped villagers.

Are you a billionaire? Or at least a millionaire?

If not, you're not the little boy in this story. You're one of the duped villagers falling for it every time.

Don't you get tired of being lied to by the GOP?

@A Theist, please take pride in your mid term wins! The lessons you will learn from this will be. 1. Americans are religious fanatics who are overly concerned about the female reproductive system 2. Funding social issues is inherently bad. 3. People actually believe the horse shit you are try to sell.

Please do gloat, you did not win a mandate. You won because liberals didn't vote. Shame on us, but we (hopefully) learned our lesson...again. Once again in the general election you all will be wondering why the dems beat the fuck out of you. News Flash...your idiots.

They gloated so hard after the 2010 midterms that we ended up with President Mitt Romney.

Wait, it didn't happen like that?

Yeah, I'm working on my second billion. I gave up on the first.

This forum inevitably raises my political hackles. I'm a libertarian which doesn't mean I agree with everyone who calls themselves libertarian. I am for keeping the government out of our personal lives be the subject sexual, religious, drugs, or unhealthily dangerous sports.

Actual anti-discrimination laws are a good thing, preference is just another word for discrimination. And preference leads to more racism.

I think the economy generally works best if the government keeps its mitts off. But there are legitimate reasons why the government should tinker with the economy, just not nearly as much as it does. Frankly, I usually agree with the goals for tinkering, I just don't think the methods used for accomplishing them work. The "cure" is often worse than the disease.

All of which is to say that I don't think it's stupidity or gullibility that makes some blue collar workers like A Theist conservative. I think many of them understand that the cure is worse than the disease. And as the most affected by the side effects of the cure, they are best placed to observe the truth of that.

As a former libertarian myself, as well as a business owner, I completely understand the concept. I think life's a balance and a well-functioning capitalist economy involves three branches, not unlike our government. In the case of our economy, the three branches are business management, unions and government regulation. With unions being killed and government continually rolled back, it's giving corporate power free reign to fill the vacuum. This is not good for our economy either.

That's the power of the echo chamber: their voters never hold them accountable because their voters only get their news from Faux News, Breitbart, Infowars, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck and none of those people ever try to hold them accountable. Meanwhile, they actually are held accountable by Jon Stewart and others who are simply dismissed as biased or commedians.

[*]Benghazi Part II (the bogus 60 Minutes story)
Jesus f*cking christ, I'm all the way over here in Australia, and I know these 2 are real scandals.

Start with Benghazi, the Obama f*ckwits left 4 Americans for dead all because Captain Stupid (i.e. Obama) lives in the fantasy world where he thinks that bombing Gaddafi out of the way would instantly turn all Muslims into American friends. Who the f*ck is that stupid? Really? Is anyone you know that f*cking stupid?? Obama is a first-class f*cking moron.

Hence Obama/Hillary (1) refused to secure the Benghazi consulate when there was clear evidence of a growing threat and (2) the local "security" for the consulate were themselves Muslim radicals who conveniently disappeared during the attack and (3) they refused a rescue because it would mess with Obama's nice clean new narrative that Libyan Muslims would now be our friends.

This matters because future Americans in dangerous situations are no longer confident their admin has their back. This is f*cking serious sh*t for field operatives. Who would now work for America in a dangerous foreign situation when they can no longer rely on backup to rescue them? Nobody.

As for the IRS, look up the heart wrenching testimony of Catherine Engelbrecht on youtube.

Left-liberal atheists are behaving with the same rabid tribal dementia as Christians. Read professor Jonathan Haidt's book The Righteous Mind. Left-liberal atheists are bone-headed cheerleaders. Dumb as a brick.

(Unless, that is, such left-liberal atheists are not motivated by tribal stupidity, but are in fact immigrants motivated by racial animosity towards whites).
