The dark brotherhood is probably the coolest evil organization ever made in fiction universes. It's so cool. I mean really cool. In all TES games
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

I thought the questline did not live up to the promise. I was disappointed with it.

Then again, the only questlines that I thought really lived up to all the work were the main one and Dawnguard's.

In Skyrim I didn't enjoy it as much, but in Oblivion the plot in the DB is awesome IMO, and in Morrowind the organization of assassins (it's not called the DB if I'm not mistaken) also has a good plot.

(avoiding spoilers)

I tend to agree. Killing the prime target at the apex of the questline appears to have very few ramifications on the game world - and it should. Not only that, but the questline was far too easy. All the intel needed to complete the quests was essentially handed to the player, and that should not be - not to mention that the side quests from Nazir are just so.... meh.

In TES3-TES5, the Dark Brotherhood/Morag Tong and Thieves' Guild are amongst my favorite factions, and the two that I'll always play, even on my Nth playthrough (what can I say, I'm a black-hearted villain).

The TG questline in Skyrim is a bit better than the DB questline, but I enjoyed the Oblivion TG questline more.

Something I've wondered about other Dark Brotherhood fans - when you first meet Astrid at the abandoned shack, which of the three targets do you kill and why?

Morag Tong is what you're thinking of.

Yeah, I like that questline - although completing "Threads of the Webspinner" takes forever, and the reward is really not in line with how difficult it is just to locate all 27 items.

I'm working on getting through Oblivion - good to know.

Oblivion is great, different from Skyrim, the combat system is worse and the character model is awful - Not graphically for a 2007 game but faces look really deformed and ugly. If you can use mods to fix issues and improve the game, it's a great experience. My only complaint is that caves have a lot of copy and past.

Cthulu, I never actually made the entire questline of morag tong, but as soon as I get Morrowind working with mods I'll try it out.

Killing the emperor is something the Dark Brotherhood hadn't done in a very long time... it's very exciting for lore reasons, though yes... Astrid's betrayal was poorly written as shit.

I kill all three, because reasons, plus I want all of the executioner's hoods for my collection.

In an answer that surprises absolutely nobody... Dodgy

I leave their hoods to rot in the filth of the abandoned shack, and go off to join my family. Ahhh, Babette Heart

Not exactly related to the Morag Tong, but... it feels right, yknow? Well... you will. Smile
