The way Reese Witherspoon played a body that thought she was at Harvard Law School but was actually a battery hooked up to a machine in a simulated consciousness was incredible.

Wasn't it obvious in the end though, in the scene where she figures out the thing with whether that other woman had gotten a perm or not? That was such a transparent metaphor for her sudden insight into the philosophical consequences of transhumanism.

Outed.

Maybe we're more efficient with brain stimulation?
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Maybe, but stimulation would require energy. And the brain is most active when asleep. Keeping us alive without the stimulation would seem to save energy, therefore being more economic.

I'm not sure though, correct me if I'm wrong.

So when we die here we wake up and who knows what we will wake up too.
The other theory i seen only also fitted into this category were all asleep in a simulation on some sort of advance starship of some sort in stasis and were one of the many crew and residents on it. Though it would be kinda cool though now wouldn't it? Big Grin ROFLOL ill be like some engineer or something.
