Like mine. I'm a cold bastard and life is great.

I'm glad others are enjoying life more than I am. I hated the world even before I became ill, but I was better at dealing with it then.
I hear you. I really do. I do a lot of deep thinking about the state of the world, and sometimes it gets to me.

I will admit to playing the ostrich at times, trying to live my life in a little bubble with no thoughts to the world at large. It works at times and at times it doesn't. It's not that I want to ignore pressing issues; it's just that I don't believe I can affect any change whatsoever.

Also, I hate to hear you're ill. Sad

I have very few wants, a loving (and smokin' hot!) wife, some cool hobbies, and a few cats and chickens to keep me company. Life is just life to me. There's some good and some bad, but overall I feel happy and so fortunate to experience this extremely brief period of existence.

It isn't. Suffering is an inherent aspect of human life on this planet, so the only way to see your life as the OP described is to be as delusional as some of our wackier resident theists. Even the best life ever lived could never be described in such a nauseatingly blissful manner.

Wait. Was the OP being sarcastic?

Seems likely.

I never ask the wrong question. Life is always on the up and up. The best opportunities always come my way. Everywhere I go the world continues on with a perfect harmonious rhythm. Every person I meet is great to know. There is never anything to disrupt or halt me in anything I do. Whenever I go shopping I always have more than enough money to purchase what I want or need. Whenever there is a need for something I always find a way to fulfill that need without any issues. The food I eat always tastes delicious. The sex I have is always so good that I fall into the deepest love there is. Each day is more memorable than the previous one. I never get into arguments. I always agree with everything other people say and they always agree with everything I say too because we all never say anything that isn't agreeable. Nothing can go wrong. Life only improves believe it or not, as perfect as it is.

Hmmm. The funny thing is, that doesn't sound all that great. Seriously. I don't mean I want a life that's continuously falling apart, or that I'd like to be destitute, and it would be nice if my body would stop aging and let do everything I could at twenty. But if I got everything I wanted all the time, I'd get bored and jaded. The track record of wealthy people who have or have had lives approaching what you imagine, tend to have been unhappy unless they had some all consuming and difficult interest. We have evolved to exist despite adversity and we don't do well without it.

Thank you, my friend Smile

There's no need to apologize for that, there are things we simply cannot do anything about and it doesn't help to think about them at all, past being aware of them. So pragmatically it is best to blinker them out. I think some people aren't even aware they are doing this, it's an automatic human skill. Compartmentalising. The people who give it more thought realize they are doing it, but there really is no option. So I wasn't trying to imply I'm the only one who realizes how shit things are, sorry if I came across that way. It's just that being depressed unfortunately heightens my sensitivity and makes this process harder.

I have never made any actual, real plans to kill myself. That is a huge achievement for me in my fight against my illness. It shows I'm stronger than I give myself credit for. But if my wife and pets weren't relying on me, it would be a different story.
