Messier 20, the Trifid Nebula
Messier 20, the Trifid Nebula

This is a remix of an image I took last July. It is a 3 hour integration of five-minute exposures at ISO 800. Taken at the Louisville Astronomical Society James Baker Center for Astronomy. Enjoy:

'The difference between a Miracle and a Fact is exactly the difference between a mermaid and seal. It could not be expressed better.'
-- Samuel "Mark Twain" Clemens

"I think that in the discussion of natural problems we ought to begin not with the scriptures, but with experiments, demonstrations, and observations".

- Galileo Galilei (1564-1642)

"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! As always oro-man you bring us awsomness. Look at all those grains in the image, they are other stars, perhaps a few with life near them. How would it be to take that shot from that POV.

Again fantastic! Do the colors lie or do we indeed see a lot of red dwarves in there?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Those are stars in the galactic arm (Sagittarius arm). There are many yellow stars there.
