Hilarious

Ahem, sorry Brian, not making fun of yourself, just your naivete.

I have plenty of experience of Windows OS, had almost every version since the original back in the late 80s. They are all Swiss Cheese but some have been more stable than others. This literally is the most stable version I have had.

I guess as long as it floats your boat.

I won't tolerate anything older than Windows 7 Professional, Ubuntu 14.04 or OSX Lion on my network.

What's the specs on your laptop?

Starter is horribly inefficient because it only comes as 32-bit. You can buy Windows 7 Upgrades for around $50 these days (Professional or Ultimate, or lower editions if you really want), I have no idea if the discs check for previous media or not, but if so you can always download the Digital River ISO. That would give you a proper 64-bit installation that would run smoother and faster on your Laptop.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

yeah.. use Ubuntu... http://www.howtogeek.com/126995/how-to-d...nity-dash/... sell-offs!

If you're going linux, get a proper one!
- Debian (ubuntu is based on this one, anyway, so you won't miss the ecosystem)
- Fedora (a different ecosystem, Red-Hat's freely available "beta test", bi-yearly upgrades and constant package updates)
- Kali (if you want to have a god at your disposal Tongue - Debian-based)

Here's a cool pic where many linux distro's and their ancestry is shown (it's big):

edit: HAHA, look at this!!:

It works fine for what I do with it. This is why marketing works so damned well and why everything is so way over priced. Holy crap dude, I was talking about e-mail first off, secondly with skype and twitter who uses email? Third, my cable company provides me with it anyway.

I simply posted this story like one would if they were wearing their eyeglasses on their heads looking needlessly for them. I posted it because it was a funny "DOH" story.

Mozilla Thunderbird may be of use. Make sure to set the account up as IMAP rather than POP3 though for added peace of mind.

Doesn't change the fact that it's a 32-bit OS running on x64 hardware.

Aractus is right.

If you're running a 32-bit operating system on 64-bit capable hardware, you're not exactly using your hardware for the degree that is capable of and technically would be a waste of money.

That is why I asked for the make and model of your laptop Brian. It would easily answer the question of, are you using your equipment properly?
