RE: Would You Respond?
I have a friend who is a right wing nut job. We have been friends for more than 30 years. He never was political. All of a sudden he thinks it is his duty to send be shit like this. I used to respond but it was costing us our friendship. We agreed to not send anything political to each other...he still does and I just delete it when I read the title.

I've gotten random political things from him in the past and I kind of just ignore it... Had this been sent by almost anyone else, I'd be all over this email lol.

Question is... is there anyone in your family that you simply won't bother responding to out of fear of confrontation?

I know my grandpa is extremely set in his ways and responding will just start a war of responses that would never end!

Isn't that what DC Leftist is about, say and do anything to get control of the most wealthy and powerful nation on earth? I'm sure some of you will buy into it because Jon Stewart will get behind it:

Can southerners be good americans?

They have fought a long and bloody war to remove themselves from the US.

They hold ideas on religion that go against the constitution, namely to invegal religion into government

You can make arguments for any group in this way, just make your own straw men and have at em.

The truth is Muslims can be valued members of any nation most are very nice.

Like all religions its the fundamentalists that you need to watch out for

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

I think you have your answer then.

RE: Would You Respond?
Hi wolf39us

1. If you aren't prepared for a long rocky conversation that can end badly, don't go there. There are people who can handle these guys, but it takes Muslims with Christian or Constitutional backgrounds who can connect with either Christians on the Bible or political types on the Constitution.

If you don't prescribe to either Christianity or the Constitution, it is almost impossible to connect with such people on their level where they won't see you as a threat or division against their sacred laws.

2. You can refer links to the Muslim Tea Party website (I think it's under Muslims4liberty (?) but this might freak them out even more: http://www.illumemagazine.com/zine/artic...ment-14153

For reference, I explained to people that true Muslims are taught to respect ALL sent by God and recognize Jewish, Christian and Muslim as "people of the Book." So the true Muslims are also good Christians following the Bible and also good Constitutionalists because they believe in the same natural laws of democracy that Mohammad established through decrees, including "no compulsion in religion" or religious freedom. Some even go so far as to claim that the Constitutional principles were influenced by precedents set by Mohammad. They are that compatible.
(the Jihadists leaving out Christianity and the Bible from Islam are as "antichrist" as Hitler and Klan considering themselves Christians following the Bible but abusing it for political oppression; people who cannot distinguish Jihadists from Muslims are like people who can't distinguish Klan Zionists or Hitler from Christians.)

If this is not your background, leave it for other people to defend. This is a common issue on political forums and you can refer people there.

Wasn't it Alabama that passed the amendment that said they couldn't base their state laws on "foreign" laws to head off Sharia Law - and then didn't realize that that would mean they couldn't justify anything by citing the bible because it would also be considered foreign law?

Don't you love when they shoot themselves in the foot like that?

Yes, I remember voting on that. Of course the first amendment of the constitution is already supposed to protect against it, unless you think religious freedom only counts for christian denominations.

I have had co workers and long time friends get brain washed by Rush, Lars, and Fox. There's others, I just don't follow and know who they are. I listened to the radio shows to get a laugh sometimes, but found myself furious instead. So I stopped. Anyway, to answer your question, no I wouldn't respond. You will not change his mind. And it will just alienate and cause problems. I also feel everyone has a right to be wrong. LOL

I just wish there weren't so many.Undecided

Yes, for that reason, I would go down grandpa's throat. Claims that the constitution is based on the bible is a dangerous LIE and imo, it must always be answered.
