Shamed for "spamming"
Hi,

I got scolded by Management here for doing a post about my new book on Atheism. Apparently it's bad to be proud of one's work as an author on the subject of Atheism. My bad, but happy to be part of the discussion anyway. Is that allowed? Maybe there's a spamming sanction for happiness also. Smile

It's the introduction forum.

Hello. Dodgy
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Perhaps it's not bad to be proud of one's work, but rather, against the rules to treat the forum as a group of shoppers collected for your benefit.

Not sure what discussion you've participated in, though -- this is the first post I've seen from you. What's on your mind, outside of not being able to sell your book?

Hello, o passive aggressive one. I'd have to check the rules again, but I seem to remember that happiness is also forbidden until you reach 30 posts Smile

Think about it this way: in a month, if you've contributed enough to the forum, you might actually gather some people who want to read your book. Until then, people will just see you as a spammer and ignore you anyway.

Welcome to the forum.

"The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions" - Leonardo da Vinci

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

Welcome. Must've missed the "no solicitors" sign, eh?
