Not that I'm whiter than white but honestly, you should just learn to be tolerant of what people wear ... right now you're sounding as intolerant as the fundy's.

Please feel free to explain what makes these accessories inherently "female", as they are, after all, only accessories. My opinion on them is that they're a very strange and useless idea, but if people think they look cool, that's for them to decide.

I have this problem too, Darwinian.
Just last night I was at work and this man walked up to the window. He was young, attractive face...and then i realized the tattoo on his neck

It said FAITH in big letters with some design around it.
And instantly I thought, wow how sad. This guy has no idea what he is missing. How can he be happy with so many unanswered questions and having to make up excuses on his gods behalf?

I love tattoos and plan to get some of my own, but I hate when people get tattoos of crosses or bible readings etc, because the bible says that your body is a temple and you should destroy it with things like tattoos and blah blah blah

but still, he was a very polite and happy customer.

It could have been his girlfriends name.

My tattoo is a personal one, it's got no special meaning but I just think it is a tattoo that says something about me. Now like it or not, for some people their religion means a lot to them. They think it is their crutch, their security blanket, not realizing that it is in fact themselves that are helping themselves and not religion. And just like me they want to personalize their tattoo. Now I agree that religion is a silly superstition, but getting a religious tattoo if you are religious makes perfect sense.

but i don't understand, if a religious person believes that the bible is true and it should be taken seriously, then why contradict it by doing something it tells you not to do?

Because believers can cherry pick and interpret the bible an way they like. If you look hard enough, you can make a bible verse fit your line of reasoning. Why do those mega church televangelist have Rolls-Royce's and Lear Jets when Jesus preaches against having money? I'm sure they can reconcile it somehow.
