I don't recall this being mentioned previously as something that would not carry over to the new server. It's a "nice to have" feature but no big deal.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

BTW, I had a 100,000 post legion of honor meritorious award with oak leaf clusters and fleur di lis before the switchover.
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
