In a sense it is ruled by a globalised economy. And with all the advantages of getting everything from everywhere it can rapidly get out of hand as has been shown in 2008. The problem is, this kind of market is dominated by relatively few mega players and it defies  checks and balances, especially when it comes to the financial sector.

I voted 'no one' I don't even know what it means to 'rule the world' Craft law or is more direct control required? The answer is really probably 'all of them' to a certain degree. Everybody has some control over somebody else various heads of state are powerful and various corporate heads are powerful and various religious leaders are powerful and have control over people. So I think it's silly to just say 'capitalists' even though someone like Kim Jong Un has direct power over many, or someone like the Dalai Lama has indirect influence over many. It's just a complicated system.

Nobody controls Cap'n Awesome though but myself.

I put down Capitalists, because I believe the Monopoly Mindgeek controls the world. What does it have a monopoly over?
The Porn Industry.
Have you ever noticed that all the sites you go to have the same videos? That is Mindgeek. It has thousands of porn sites such as YouPorn, Pornhub and Redtube.
Those sites are notorious for hosting a ton of pirated content. Each website takes individual takedown requests and pirates from many studios that don't have the resources to monitor piracy, meaning that porn start-ups are next to impossible to be successful!
