What's your broadband speed?

The reason you got an extra boost in Chrome is most likely just down to timing. It could have happened in Firefox or Opera. This isn't a rendering test, it's a download speed test, and that is dependent on your ISP, not your browser.

Yes, I know. What I'm suggesting is that speedtest.net are in with google chrome and are trying to make people think that chrome is faster than any other browser, because every time I run the test it's always 6.7 in all the browsers except chrome where it is always 7.3 and when I run different tests they all come back as 6.7 even in chrome.

This is perhaps the absolute fastest my internet gets at home... don't ask me to try this in the daytime... my ego can't take it Tongue

You did it in the middle of the day? No wonder....
Evidently it gets slightly better when I connect in Kansas 0.o

Of course I wasn't talking to you Adrian, my comment only applies to those with slower connections than me. Wink

I highly doubt that. The test quite clearly states that it's testing your internet speed, not your browser speed. It's quite possible some other anomaly is in play here. Have you tried it on different servers? Does the same thing happen?

I'm surprised that the download was that fast - we're only paying for 5MB/s I think. The again, my house is less than half a mile away from the routing station, and the server was only a few miles away as well.

Disappointed at upload speeds, though.

Hmmm...

I tried a few servers from around the world (including adrians), and they were all at the same speed for me. Didn't try Kansas though
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Well, there was a weird star sign on my 'map' in kansas (right next to the line originator), so i connected there instead. I have no idea why that would have changed anything at all, but in any case: the internet here is hardly stellar Smile

The star means multiple servers in one location, and when I retested my internet at night it was the same, and in Kansas it was slightly slower.

To get faster internet we should go camp outside Adrian's house and siphon his fast internet.
