I have Windows 8.1. POS OS! How do I download Xubuntu 14 to a bootable thumb drive?

I assume you want to be able to boot from the usb not just download onto it, look here :-

edit to add, download the iso file from http://xubuntu.org/ and burn it to a cd or dvd first, then boot into it (also a good test to be sure your hardware (sound, wifi etc) works ok

(lots of info on google!)

Download whatever linux distro you want in ISO format.

Use a tiny freeware, Rufus, to make a bootable usb media out of it. Smile
