RE: The Utter Irrelevance of the New Testament
Because there is no evidence at all that there ever was a "time of jesus."  Work on establishing that first.

The majority of reputable historians disagree with you. I'll accept their opinions.

But you never ask to see their evidence....which mainly consists of bible bullshit.

That's why you and they can safely be dismissed.

Turning Randy's diagram into numbers we get:

           (1)       is not          (2)

                    is           is
              i          (6)             i
               s                        s
                          is
                   not           not
                        (3)

"God" being the sum of Dad, Kid and Ghost (1+2+3=6).

We can derive the following equations from the diagram:

1 <> 2 (Yay! 1 for 1)
1 <> 3 (Yay! 2 for 2! This is looking promising!)
2 <> 3 (Wow! 3 for 3! Go God Go!)
1 = 6 (Bzzzzt! Dammit! And we were doing so well!)
2 = 6 (Bzzzzt! Son of a BITCH!)
6 = 3 (Bzzzzt! Bloody Hell!)

I suspect god not only hates fags, Canada, shrimp and Sweden, but MATH would be on His Holy Hate List.

You drew an ascii tiger face!
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

A mildly interesting read at best (revelations can be exciting) completely dangerous fiction at worst.

Not for children.

Wow...........   Leave aside that this is untrue, and consider only what is implied in acceptance of this claim -as fact-.  You must accept, or imply....that all of these other cultures and peoples were...for whatever reason..incapable of producing the rich cultural narratives that we can definitively and demonstrably credit -to them-.

We must, instead...give it all to some other group, a group which..conveniently...features heavily in one of your favorite stories -in the very genre you are shitting upon-.

Imma give you a kudos, that was impressive.

(also....you might want to look into a little art history, that's an awfully taut explanation for similarities in art, between cultures...and over time. There might be a rich explanation for that which isn't quite as silly, eh?)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I'm glad you found that hilarious.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religions_o..._Near_East
Quote:Mesopotamian empires such as the Akkadian Empire, Neo-Sumerian Empire, Old Assyrian Empire, Babylonian Empire, Middle Assyrian Empire, Neo Assyrian Empire and Neo Babylonian Empire asserted Mesopotamian dominance (particularly during the Neo Assyrian Empire 911-605 BC) from the Caucasus Mountains to Arabia and Egypt, and from Cyprus and the east Mediterranean to Persia.

Thus the influence exerted by the Assyrian-Babylonian religion was particularly profound on other Semites, including the Hebrews, Amorites, Eblaites, Suteans, Chaldeans, Canaanites, Arameans, Phoenicians, Nabateans, Carthaginians and Arabs, while their astral theology affected the ancient world in general, including non-Semitic peoples such as the Hittites, Elamites, Kassites, Phrygians, Lydians, Persians, Greeks, Armenians, Georgians, and the later Romans.

I already made a long detailed post proving this.... Since you claim it's untrue, where is your evidence?

You claim to have proven something.....................I think you wasted your time "proving" such a silly thing to begin with. As usual, you have failed to provide a compelling explanation of your claims.
