Children of the 1970's

But it was considered dangerous by some. There has been a story making the round about a child killing herself with it. My mother didn't let me have it, although, much like mobiles nowadays, everybody had it.

For me the decade started with this and ended with slime, if anybody remembers this. Don't know if this made it's way to America either.

They both made it to the U.S.  I had both.  The Klick Klacks didn't last long though.  It only took a couple flying off the rope to end their sale.

Oh yeah, pop rocks -also known as space dust - and klick klacks! How could I forget them?

If you look in certain cheap tat shops, you can occasionally find a modern version of klick klacks. Instead strings attached to a tab, it's a cheap long plastic handle on which the balls are fastened by way of two one-piece v shaped arms. Similar effect, and exactly as much fun as there is danger.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

On a similar note, everyone and his brother was into nunchaku in the late 70s.  Can't tell you how many times I took a shot to the bollocks.

I was 3 years old to 13. Many of you have brought back fond memories and associations. When I think of the 70's:

Lip Gloss
feathered hair and tortoise shell Goody combs in the back pocket of your Lawman painter pants, San Francisco jeans.. etc.
Elton John
Nixon
the Saigon pull out of Vietnam
Gerald Ford falling down
Benny Hill
You waited all year for Charlie Browns and yes, Christmas Specials to air, along with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Wizard of Oz. (Before VCR's)
Princess phones
Satin everything
John Denver
3 Dog Night
Disco
Jim Croche/Seals and Crofts
Iran Hostage Crises
Bicentennial
Selling Campfire candy door to door
Busy Signals
Fleetwood Mac
The Cars
Phone cords
Big Wheels
AM Radio

Fun topic!
So you're a tiny bit older than me, like one of my cousins Big Grin For some reason it used to cheese me off that I was the oldest among my brothers but we had one cousin who was slightly older. I used to ask my parents when I would be older than her!

I was born in 1973. I can remember what really matters, though: the development of video games!

I played a table-top version of Pong when I was maybe 3 years old. Then Space Invaders, then Asteroids. I mean, come on! Smile

Does anybody remember, there were these smallish glass objects with colored liquids inside them. If you held them in your palm, the liquid started to bubble. Try as I might, I can't recall how they were called. Maybe I never knew in the first place, but they were all the rage for a period in time.

Here's what I was talking about earlier. Slime wasn't the real deal unless it had worms.
