Yep, this former Catholic always hated the taste of those wafers, always wanted to dip them in nacho cheese or peanut butter. But that motif of symbolic cannibalism stems from animal sacrifice of prior polytheism.

It was bland and tasteless and it stuck to the roof of your mouth

I used to bite it because they told us not to Tongue

You were a bad Catholic if you believed it was just symbolic.  The official doctrine of the Catholic Church is that it LITERALLY becomes the flesh of Jesus through the magic of transubstantiation:

The most blessed sacrament retains the apperance of bread and wine, but in essence it literally becomes the flesh and blood of the Lord. There is no magic involved.

You're not just killing their bodies, you're destroying their souls, erasing them from existence. We know animals can experience physical pain, even loss if one observes the behavior of packs and herds when a member of it dies. It's immoral to kill a human, but perfectly acceptable to kill a cow because you might be hungry.

It's fine to kill animals because one of the reasons God created animals was to provide food for us.  Animals eat other animals for the same reason.  ...

Not according to the Bible.  Genesis 1:

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

According to the Bible, no animals, including humans, were to eat flesh in the Garden of Eden.  So God did NOT create animals to be food for people.

"A wise man ... proportions his belief to the evidence."

The stickier issue being that, according to the bible, gods a liar.  He provided us /w no seeds.  We worked our asses off for them (and still do).   Go munch on some woody wild cultivars of this that or the or the other thing and see how long you survive.

Why are you rejecting the fact that atheists don't need to reject a god as we don't believe they exist in the first place.
does it make you feel more secure this way.

you are either intentionally dishonest, or plain ignorant or unintelligent.  please pick one?
