Life Is Short; Have an Affair

I had honestly never heard of that site until it recently made the news. xD

RE: Life Is Short; Have an Affair
I don't have a problem with these fuckbuddy sites at all. To each their own. It's all down to the individuals and how they use them. If they're single/in an open relationdhip, bang on (pun definitely intended). If they're using them to score on the side/behind their partners back well...

When it comes to hacking these sites... Well, I'd like to see hackers shot on site (no, not really). These little fuckers cause more trouble than any ten gang-bangers, high on crack and in a pissed off mood. The "I Love You" virus caused billions of dollars, all by itself, in lost productivity alone. Billions more in IT man hours cleaning infected computers and servers.

A hackers den. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

I'm big on honesty. It's the one thing I demand from others. So, I find the notion of cheating to be reprehensible in the extreme.

Want to fuck every person you come across? Fine, whatever. Just don't betray the people you supposedly love, especially since that behavior and deceit may have long term health repercussions for them. "Oh, honey, I have no idea how you got the clap. I know there was a bout of pink eye going around the office...."

What I'm waiting for is the inevitable disclosure of the names of the 'traditional family values' champions who used the site.

I totally agree. If you don't have honesty in a relationship, you don't have anything in my opinion. Sleeping around is fine as long as you're both up front about it and totally happy. Otherwise, it's one of the sickest most hurtful things you could to someone you supposedly care about.

I'm quite sure I could never physically do it, even if I wanted to, which I don't.

I don't know how anyone can take a cheater back, either.

There was a situation with "Bob" earlier in our relationship in which I came home really late from work that night, and I'd already missed the first half of the game (yes; I'm kind of ridiculous about football), and I was geared up to go have a beer to watch the second half. When I got home, Bob told me we couldn't go to the bar because his ex girlfriend had started working there. I was like, "ah, no. I've been a regular at this place for almost three years. I'm not going to stop going there."

He was adamant until I thought, "hold on."

"Bob," I said. "How do you know 'Theresa' is working at the bar?"

"Oh, well... uh, you know, 'Pedro'? He told me."

"I thought Pedro was up north," I said.

"Oh no; he got home today. I met them for sandwiches."

"Who's them?"

"Well, uh... 'Penny' came to meet us, and you know..."

"Hang on; you told me Pedro never met Theresa."

"Well, uhm, you know, they ran into each other."

"Ok, Bob. Keep lying to me.."

"Ok, ok. Pedro and I met Theresa for lunch."

"Excuse me?" at that point, I don't even want to know what my face could have looked like.

You can imagine where the rest of this is going. I chose to forgive and forget because he promised he hadn't done anything bad, and I did actually forgive and forget... until the AM thing happened about four years later.

After we broke up, he spent about six months trying to "make me see reason" all the while secretly fucking someone I thought was a friend who had a boyfriend whom I really respected. I spent a good portion of those six months trying to figure out how often he'd cheated on me. My guesstimate is relatively high on that one.

From then on, I have been totally intolerant.

How dare he treat you like that Sad There's no excuse for that kind of behaviour. I understand how manipulative people can seem genuinely sorry, and be convincing that they won't do it again. My father is one of those. But when it comes to it, you're either the kind of person who can screw someone over without a second thought, or you're not. I'm glad you have a zero tolerance policy now!

Of course I'm not advocating throwing someone out the window as soon as there is a misunderstanding. My wife and I have them all the time, it's unavoidable. The important thing is whether the intent to deceive is there.

The only times I've ever deceived my wife, that I'm aware of, have been when I have a secret present or surprise planned! I find even that really hard. I had built myself up to propose to her when she got home from work. Unexpectedly, she phoned and asked me to come visit her at lunchtime. I did, and I felt like my head was going to explode from having to keep the secret in! I felt for sure she would know something was going on. Somehow, I pulled it off, and she was very surprised when she got home and I could propose properly the way I had planned Smile

Bob is a dickweed. Fuck Bob Angry

I'm glad they're down. If you want more than one partner, GUESS WHAT! Monogamous relationships aren't for you! Crazy I know!

AM makes (or made, teehee) it easier for assholes like Bob to hurt people. There is no good that comes out of them. A toast for the hackers!

Dammit Becca... why did you have to use a Pedro?! Tongue

As for cheating enabling sites... well, it's a free economy - clearly, the market is there. Someone would capitalize on it, sooner or later.
As for the practice itself... I don't know... my parents got divorced because my mom cheated, when I was sort of young, so I barely remember even living with both my parents in the same place.
If I stand by my dad, yeah, I can see it for the vile act it is...
If I stand by my mum, well, flesh is weak.

I can understand both points and... be it genetic or whatever... I find myself unable to pick a clear side.

I've been married for over 10 years now and can safely say I've never faltered... but, should a decent opportunity have surfaced, would I have faltered? maybe...
Sure, I don't go out looking for such opportunities... I got these 3 rules that must align to create an opportunity... never happened.
Will it ever happen? I don't know.
Does that make me a nasty person?... maybe...

Hacking... generally speaking, hackers don't target specific goals... they send out their viruses, their keyloggers and then sift through all the garbage they collect until they find a pearl.
Why do they do it?
- Bragging rights, mostly.
- Money, whenever possible.

Sometimes, it doesn't take much to hack - I see becca hacked into her boyfriend's bank account and it seems no one noticed! - and sometimes, things are well secured and require further skillz and time.

I have a problem with hackers who steal money.
But account details... meh... nothing you do online is truly private. Spend enough time online and you'll give off details that can pinpoint you out of everyone in the world.
