Hmmm, that was quite a benign OP.

Sure, one can take issue with the Israeli government's actions and US support of that government, or how Ultra-orthodox Judaism is just as vile as Islam, but those topics seem far afield from the OP.

Except he said nothing of the sort, or even anything comparable. Literally all he said was that he'd found a community that has welcomed him with open arms and made his life more positive. Now I'm as atheist as they come, but I can appreciate the sentiment because I'm also a human being.

And jews are as fair game as any other religion - dragging the various crimes committed in the name of a religion to a thread not pertaining to that in any way isn't. I advise you to not post any more in this particuiar thread if you have nothing nice to say, but I'm sure you won't heed that advice.

I once had a love affair with Judaism since I took comparative religion in college and the teacher was a Jew. Went to his temple for a paper I had to write.

Also had a love affair with Taoism Confucianism and Buddhism.

Still don't believe in any of them but I have a mild appreciation for all 4 lifestyles.
