Sure it does. Think of the fun and educational exercise of trying to figure out how they were on a desert isle in the opening song and a tropic island in the closing song.

And knowing that a skipper is not something you do when playing hop scotch.

That desert isle thing always drove me nuts. There ARE desert islands in the tropic regions like Bonaire in the Caribbean. Gilligan's Island was obviously not one of them. I always figured they got "desert" mixed up with "deserted". In reality, there are no islands that size that are uninhabited (unless privately owned or protected) and haven't been since time immemorial. Developers are bastards that have been around long before head-hunters.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
