Wife got us another kitten

RE: Wife got us another kitten
OH my gosh... I want to kiss it....
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That's what I thought - Spectre looks sleepy, not stressed.  Stressed cats look more like...

RE: Wife got us another kitten
We have 2 rescue kitties here.

First was a 10 week old kitten when discovered on our doorstep. Had him vet checked out and he's been a good, if somewhat overweight and mischievous critter.

#2 was 10 months old (vet estimate) when I noticed him coming around the house for tidbits. Set a live trap as he was super afraid. Took months before he quit hissing and growling, he spent that period in the tile bath where he could not escape or damage anything. After 4 months or so he had tamed enough to get house privileges, and he's steadily calmed down and become a very good (although dumb as a post) house cat.

Both cats tolerate annual trips to the vet and never go out doors. They both also let me Dremel their claws so neither was declawed (I really don't like that).

I've had very good results with the Dremel plan, and have 2 extremely nice 'college dorm room' big ass speakers and neither cat has ever damaged them. They do try to shred each other, however, but it's a larger house and keeping them separate is not a problem and it just works better. They communicate via scent (apparently). It's funny how each will retrace the others resting spots on a daily basis.

As for the 'dumb' one, he definitely is the easier of the 2 to deal with. He actually minds me and follows directions well enough (he knows what "NO!" means and complies, the other, not a chance). The other one we control with food bribes, he definitely has a contrary streak otherwise.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I was joking about a sleepy-looking kitten being stressed.

I figured.  Though granted a 'yawn' can look much like a 'yell'.

Not a big deal.  Smile

I've just heard that cats have overtaken dogs as the most popular companion animals in the US.
