Doctor Who, Season Nine

RE: Doctor Who, Season Nine
Yeah none of them could die because the previews have already shown Clara and Missy in other stories in the series 9 trailers. Having Doctor Who shoot Clara would have been a great way for her to go though!! But as usual Moffat is too afraid to kill anyone, it's pathetic. The last time the Daleks were actually threatening was Stolen Earth.

Moffat spoon-feeds the plot, and there's way too much dialogue and not enough action or mystery.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

I wholeheartedly agree with your mystery comment; however, the show has always been about dialogue. I always found the constant running about by the Tennant and Smith Doctors to be distracting and a way to mindlessly fill time.

Moffat was the show runner for Smith's tenure, whereas RTD was Tennant's.

In terms of dialogue it's supposed to be a way for Doctor Who to learn about new places, experiences, life forms. There's nothing he learns in this episode.

If you're going to have the daleks, which we are never going to learn anything new about, then there should be another people or race that we do learn about in the episode. Think back to Daleks take Manhattan for example.

And I really hated the way they set up the young-Davros encounter with Doctor Who - if you're going to make reference to previous encounters it should be encounters we have already seen - or at least have already happened, not one that happens immediately before the present encounter!!

Do you know that since they've brought the series back not one companion has died? Amy and Rory got imprisoned in a factor-farm for the Angles, but no one has died. And he hasn't had one non-Earth companion yet. The fourth doctor had Leela and then Romana, and later Adric and Nyssa - four non-earthling companions.

Thank Christ there was no sign of the New-Paradigm daleks this time. Although the inclusion of the earlier versions contradicts what we've been told about how the daleks have survived - now apparently they have always survived in multiple forms, and they're no longer fighting each other.

Amy and Rory are dead. He died at the hands of the Weeping Angels. The Doctor tried to stop Amy from joining him, but was unable to. They both died of old age after being trapped in the past, I assume. There were tombstones with their names on them.

I'd have liked to see a story in which the NSDS (New Series Daleks) return to the city from the original "The Daleks" - sometimes referred to as "The Dead Planet" - and stop the events of that story from happening. Then we could have Capaldi doing a Back To The Future 2 and put things right while keeping out of Hartnell's way. Maybe the original Shawcraft Daleks could wipe out the NSDs. Something like that, anyway.

Maybe I could interest YouTube's Batmanmarch in the idea. He could pull it off if anyone could.

I'm pissed at this new season. It still explains nothing! How did the master escape when the timelords were returning? Wtf happended there? How did Davros escape the last time we saw him? And I'm pretty convinced that Skaro wasn't destroyed. The doctor asked davros how he got it back, but with matt smiths doctor, I could swear he went to skaro.

I used to get excited by a new series of Dr Who. Now I watch it because it's on.

Put it this way. I tuned into the series openers, with some anticipation. Next week, not so much.

Just watched Image of the Fendahl on Dailymotion. Now I'm in the mood for lots of things; but in DW terms, a Tom Bakerthon.
