RE: Some Very Strange Websites
I agree dbp, but focusing on trying to eradicate the belief instead of the zealotry, ignorance, bigotry or hypocrisy that actually instigates the action is like cutting the weed instead of pulling it by it's roots.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

"A lot of people are unwilling to acknowledge anything that contradicts their worldview. So telling them that it's false doesn't necessarily slow them down. That's how urban legends get started for the most case. Like the woman who supposedly put her poodle in the microwave to dry it off. And it exploded." David Mikkelson (snopes)

Absolutely. I'm not in favour of social engineering to force people to change their beliefs, or anything like that.

Just because I think that religion is institutionalized craziness doesn't mean that I'd advocate forcing you to take some sort of pill to 'cure' you. I'm all in favour of tolerating craziness (of whatever sort) as long as it doesn't actually harm people.
He who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

TY PR haven't heard from you in a while. If I thought for one second that Sae took it personally I would have quickly retracted. All of us have some predispositions and prejudices of some flavor at times, it's when we get swept up in the intolerance and focus on the us instead of how the other side feels when I personally feel we start to lose our humanity or civility.

Embarrassed to say that I actually believed this guy when I was 13: Alex Chiu. Luckily, I grew out of that phase around the same time I grew out of Christianity.

RE: Some Very Strange Websites
I F-ing love Alex Chiu's website! It is great to tell people that you want to buy those rings when you get some spare money and watch their heads explode. Even better is when they think it is a good idea.
