But think of the damage they could do in that four years and how long it will take to recover from it.

Speaking only for myself as a woman of reproductive age, I'm not willing to parade my rights in front of their firing squad just to prove a point. I shouldn't have to.

I live in TX and I am not sure most people understand how strong they are getting. They see themselves as the victims and are doing what they must to get religion as part of our political process. If we don't figure out a way to stop hiding/being loners it is possible that we will be living in a country that doesn't allow us in it.

Living in a theocracy is my fear.  Here in the Northwest and visiting the East and Midwest I don't see it.  But in the South and parts of the Mountain West I do.

Mine as well but it is exactly what they are after. If we don't band together it will happen. Where I live they pray before football games,

That's what a lot of people living in the "saner" parts of the country don't understand.  In the South and in the Bible Belt, there are a LOT of Evangelicals.  They literally want America to be a Theocracy.  This is 1/4 of the American population, and right now, they are feeling marginalized and angry.  If they made up only 10% of the population, that would still be worrisome.
So now, I kind of hope Trump stays as the front runner for a little while longer, because the Evangelicals don't want him.  They know he's just spouting whatever will get him the crazy conservative vote.  They want Cruz or Santorum.

That could go either way:

On the one hand, Trump staying in marginalizes the Cruzes and Santorums of the world and makes it harder for them to reach voters who are not already in their pockets - nobody is listening to them when the media has Trump whacking at the soundbite pinata and showering them with little treats.

On the other, once Trump's crazy train finally runs out of steam, Cruz and Santorum have the opportunity to look sane and level-headed in his absence. Imagine that.

I wouldn't worry about Ted Cruz or Rick Santorum. Neither are going to be the Republican candidate.

I'd be far more worried about Ben Carson. None of the Republicans are anyone I'd want near the White House in any case. All of them scream crazy to me. They want to put all the money into the pockets of wall street bankers, and control what goes on in the bedrooms of the average American. They want to ban abortion, take away healthcare and food stamps, and they want more wars in the middle east to fill the pockets of their donors.

Republicans are frightening to anyone with some common sense. If Donald Trump were able to be remotely diplomatic, he'd probably be the least frightening of them all.

Exactly.  Because Trump doesn't REALLY have a religious agenda.  Cruz and Santorum and Carson scare me though.

Why? Cruz and Santorum have name recognition and political clout (even if it comes from shenanigans like government shutdowns and a prior (losing) presidential campaign). And just because you're polling well in October the year before the election doesn't mean you'll win the nomination; just ask Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, The 2012 Edition, who all, with the exception of Bachmann,* polled in the 20% range and higher during their campaigns in the last Prez election.

*Bachmann maxed out at 14% in July, 2011 but took until January to officially drop out of the race.

We've got a loooooooong way to go before we can say anything for sure.
