Go for a walk, find a Viking sword
Man in Norway goes for a walk and stumbles upon an ancient Viking sword

Awesome.

This is another reason I love archaeology.

I remember going around town as a kid, coming home with something weird, and telling my parents I, uh, found it too. Yeah. Let's go with that.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

"It fell off a truck" works too. Except when it doesn't.

Very cool. My brother finds lots of really old arrowheads when he goes out, but he's actively looking for them so that's a bit different.

As for my luck, I went walking yesterday and my shoe found a rusty screw. :/

You never know what you'll...find...when traveling through isolated rural areas.

Poor guy. Had his sword stolen, and got bashed in the face. Rough day.

Where I live, you can't help stumbling over Roman stuff. When I was a child, I did a lot of digging in our garden. It was easy, since the house was still under construction, since dad used to add a little something every couple of years. What I found was mostly nails and a few remnants of glass flagons.

My town has been a Roman base of the Limes Pannonicus. Nobody knows how it was called. But we know the units stationed here.
