Have you attended a wedding for a same sex couple?

Have you attended a wedding for a same sex couple?
Yesterday I attended my first wedding for a same sex couple -- my youngest daughter's.  It was an absolutely beautiful wedding, both brides looked stunning in their wedding dresses.  They both got to walk down the aisle.  My daughter asked me to accompany her over her father, which was kind of a big fucking deal to me.  Now all of my kids are married.  It was mostly a family gathering with a few friends of each of the brides.

So has anyone else attended a wedding for a same sex couple?

I have attended exactly zero weddings, regardless of sex.  Tongue

No, I haven't. I have a cousin who married his partner in SF, but the ceremony was held in a JP's office and no invitations were sent out.

I've not been to one, but I'd be quite happy to do so.

It sounds like a lovely wedding, congratulations to your daughter Smile

Yes, twenty years ago between two women, naturally it had no legal affect. Otherwise it was remarkably like any other fairly low key wedding. I've lost touch with the couple and don't know if they've decided to make it legal now.

I went to one of my good high school friend's weddings about two years ago in San Francisco. It was wonderful.

Congrats to your daughter, Div!

Quite a few, and they were lovely.  Congratulations on your daughter's wedding!

Not yet.

Congratulations on your daughter's wedding and being such an awesome parent.

Never did. But that's only because I don't know any same sex couples closely enough taking that step and inviting me.

My first was '76 or '77.

I recall one of the songs during the service was "Will You Still Love Me When I'm 64".

I've actually not been to too many weddings, I think my demographic is a little old and then the attrition from HIV thinned out the candidates. I know a gay attorney, and bless his little attorney heart, he's looking to specialize in same sex divorce cases and pre nups.

Lawyers are scum regardless of their sexual orientation. (Yeah, Jimmy, we all love your corroded morals, and if any of us got in trouble, you're the first one we call, too)
