Do you ever wish you could just say "these people should be killed"

So I left it there for a couple minutes, then I get a reply from someone saying "someone report this guy, he's going to be the next school shooter!" So I quickly deleted the comment, because I obviously wouldn't be able to get away with saying something like that. Doesn't it kind of suck though that we as people can't just talk like that? I mean I would never kill someone myself, but often when I am really pissed off at people for whatever reason, all I want to say is "well they should be fucking killed and I want to kill that son of a bitch". You can't really say that though, not in the society we live in today, where the cops are going to come busting down your door or something. It's sad to me though, I wish that I could just say "we should kill ______" or "kill all __________" as much as I want.

What would be your better judgment? Do you ever feel like speaking this way? If you don't then what is a better way of thinking, which helps you avoid thinking this way? I admit, I get pretty angry at stuff and I sometimes just wish that I could just start talking about my actual feelings.

I think you can say whatever you want.  And the community can respond however it wants.  It's going to end up being a bad day for you, though, so you'd better make sure that the comments that get you banned from society or social groups are worth the social price you will pay.

No.
End of discussion.
Which is better:
To die with ignorance, or to live with intelligence?

Truth doesn't accommodate to personal opinions.
The choice is yours.

The more questions you ask, the more you realize that disagreement is inevitable, and communication of this disagreement, irrelevant.

If you say you wish you could kill people, you have no business getting bothered when people take you at your word.

I've found that I'm able to express my feelings more precisely by using nuanced language.  Rather than saying "Joe Blow should be killed," for instance, I'll just say that he should be shot in the face with rocksalt, or have his eyes poked out. The ridiculousness of the phrasing tips my hand that I'm not being serious, and spares me the odium of people who don't know.

But then again, I stay off Facebook for the most part.

Never make categorical statements. When I was in the USAF I learned that making a qualified statement like "It is my considered opinion that that stupid Colonel -------------should be killed practically assured you wouldn't find yourself in any trouble. However saying something like (in a fit of anger) "I'll kill that son-fo-a-bitch Col ------" regardless of the situation could and probably would get you in a great big puddle of poo.

Letting myself say things like that, for whatever reason, raises my BP. There are more productive things to do and/or say concerning people we don't like.

That said, I am pro death penalty for rape and for murder, so...

Funny how that works, eh?

Where were you at in the AF, and what was your AFSC?

I was a firefighter, 571x0, stationed at Carswell AFB in Texas back when it was an active-duty SAC base.

Yes, I'm that goddamned old.

USAF yes. Started out as a B47 Gun Laying Mech/Tech. Later became a Missile Control Mech on Thor's and still later Atlas ICBM all of course SAC.

Can't remember my AFSC. Was at many stations; Lawrey AFB, (now Denver International Airport) Denver CO, Little Rock AFB, AR, Bries Norton AFB and later Feltwell RAF Station in Jolly Ole and finally Fairchild AFB west of Spokane, WA and many training facilities throughout the USA.

Only approved thoughts are allowed to be expressed in America.
