It is a very important question and I suggest you think carefully before answering it. If you had the social skills of a rock would you rather be crushed vertically or horizontally? (I think we all realize this is not a hypothetical question.) 
I'm trying to figure out whether vertical rock crushers are actually more complicated than they need to be. You're making use of gravity instead of a conveyor belt, which means that the timing of the transport of rocks travelling downwards is less predictable. And you don't save any energy saving over having a conveyor belt because you have to lift the rock up to begin with. With a horizontal rock crusher you could chain multiple ones together if you wanted to crush the rock into smaller sizes. You couldn't do that so easily with a vertical one.
On the other hand a vertical rock crusher would save space if it was limited. But when is that ever really an issue outdoors? I'm still trying to figure out why they were using that horizontal crusher in Germany last week that I apparently didn't see. |
