Will You Tale Part in the Holiday Spirit or Will You be the Grinch Who Stole Xmas?

Will You Tale Part in the Holiday Spirit or Will You be the Grinch Who Stole Xmas?
I know we don't believe in spirits. We don't believe in Jesus. We don't believe in the virgin birth or Santa claws.

Yet, I can't find fault with the only day in the year when nobody's fussing about whose turn it is in the bathroom.

When I first turned away from Christianity, I wouldn't return people's "Merry Christmas." I couldn't say what I wanted to say, but I'd be damned if I was going to let people make me say things I didn't want to say.

Now, though, I'm still just as much an un believer, but I feel less hostile about the heritage and good feeling around this time of year. I can feel that and jus take the secular and leave the religious shit alone. That's not hypocrisy. That's my choice.

The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.

I don't really give a shit about the whole "Merry Christmas" thing. You want to say it? Say it. You want to not say it? Knock yourself out.

The holiday for me has about as much to do with Jesus and Christianity as the 4th of July. So yeah, I'll participate, but Jesus as usual will be a no-show.

I've narrowed my eyes at the screen and lit one up.
I hope this answers your question.

I love xmas time. Time off, snow, pretty lights, presents, family and stuffing yourself with delicious special food, it's awesome

If the options are to throw myself into the xmas spirit full throttle or spoil the fun for everyone else, why can't I choose neither? The way I feel right now I just want to pass out drunk after Sam's birthday on the 21st and not come round until some time in January. But I don't want to make everyone else feel the same.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I dropped a few 'Happy Holidays' yesterday (Costco, Menards, Best Buy) and got a 'Merry Christmas' back every time.

I put up and decorated our sad artificial Charlie Brown Christmas tree last night to surprise my wife when she got home from work because she loves that sort of thing. Does that count?

I'll probably snag a wreath for the door on Saturday. Luv the smell, and it's a donation to the local food pantry or something.
